As I sat on the plane returning to Jacksonville after a tremendous day of ministry I felt the explosive yet calming presence of God overwhelming me to write. Out of that moment I was instructed to open my bible and turn to Ezekiel 48:35. Out of the word of the Lord came the name of the new location, “and the city shall be called The Lord is Here”. As I heard the Lord speaking to me it became apparent that we are not called to build a new facility for expansion and ministry execution. Rather we are being called to build a place where the Glory of the Lord will dwell on the earth.
It is to be a place of healing, restoration, and hope.
It is to be a place of life changing worship and transforming teaching and preaching.
It is to be a place where the spirit of Agape flourishes and no one feels left out.
It is to be a place where signs and wonders are clearly on display for all to see.
It shall be the city where “ The Lord is Here”.
I write this to ready us for the journey that is before us. Before us is the assignment to build a house until to the Lord that will speak of our love for Him and will declare to the world that we live for him and him alone. Read 2 Chronicles 6:18-21. There is a divine mandate upon us and we are the generation that will complete for God that which will call the wounded and the lost to his altar of forgiveness.
So as shepherd I call you, the flock of Jesus Christ, here at Saint Paul to come together and submit to the vision that is ours. I call you to embrace this challenge with great joy! Today we begin the journey and together we will see God honor us!! It is the word of the Lord on this day, June 29,2008 and we are all witnesses.
